Eight students from Parker Elementary School, a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school, had their artwork showcased at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, Alabama, as part of the Youth Art Month Exhibit.

The museum hosts the exhibit each March, highlighting young talent across the Wiregrass region. Out of 874 submissions this year, eight pieces were selected from Parker Elementary. Their artwork spans a range of styles and mediums, including a pumpkin painting by Rowan (kindergarten), a mixed media penguin by Auri (first grade), a winter cat watercolor by Finley (second grade), a self-portrait by Scarlett (third grade), a sunflower still-life inspired by Vincent van Gogh by Evelyn (fourth grade), a weaving by Ben (fifth grade), a Pop Art-inspired painting by Reese (sixth grade), and a still-life drawing by Alena (sixth grade).

Mrs. Chatham, the art teacher at Parker Elementary, commended the students' efforts. "I am so proud of these students! Their attention and dedication to creating art is remarkable," she said. "Their commitment to their craft is an inspiration to me, and I am very lucky to be a part of their creative journey."

Students and their families attended a reception at the museum to celebrate the achievement. The artwork will remain on display through March 31, offering the public a chance to view the talents of these young artists from Parker Elementary.
